In 2015, through a shared agreement, Musikene and the Orfeón Donostiarra created this award with the aim of encouraging musical research in the Basque Country. The award is annual and does not include a monetary prize.
The students from Musikene whose End of Course Project receives a score equal to or higher than 9, and which is proposed by the evaluating tribunal by means of a justifying report, can compete for the award. A topic of research related to music in the Basque Country and in particular to choral music will be an advantage. The jury will be appointed by the management of the centre and will be formed by at least two PhDs from Musikene. The Coordinator of Research and Innovation will act as the chair of the tribunal.
